SEPTEMBER 2020 INTENTIONS

SEPTEMBER 2020 INTENTIONS

Hullo!

It’s been a while, huh?

The last time I wrote out my intentions was basically a year ago, for SEPTEMBER 2019 INTENTIONS.

I feel like not much as changed, yet, there have been some outwardly and inwardly shifts, I believe occurring both for the collective and individual sense of self. Me definitely included.

I feel like the last year was a component of a hibernation mode for me. I didn’t do much. Rested hard. And simply learned to be. Which is quite different from how I have lived most of my life.

But we are here, Tuesday September 1st 2020, and I am about to share my intentions for this brand new month. New energy. New opportunities. Full moon. All the vibes we can bring on to jump into the unknown.

SEPTEMBER 2020 INTENTIONS

+ TACKLE-THIS

I have decided to transition from paper planners to my laptop for all things planning and doing. This means that my most used apps both on my laptop and iPhone have transitioned from Insta to the Apple Calendar App and the Apple Notes App. Don’t worry - Insta is still getting lots of luv. Within my Calendar App, I have color-coded calendars for EVERYTHING. You name it, it has its own calendar. Appointments, birthdays, dates, important, John, pets, travel, work-outs, and work are all there. I am gonna have to add one for the blog! The Calendar app also has my reminders for when things need to be done, and help me plan out everything in advance, from when John has his three day weekends, to what to meal prep for the week. I then have the Notes app, where I currently have 80 notes as of today. I make notes from my daily/weekly to-do list, things I want to get done in my life, for work, with John, at the house, for yoga, to meal prepping/grocery shopping/errand running lists. My Notes app runs my world.

So this month, I would love to get back into a planning mode with the Calendar app, and actually start completing things off my many many many lists in the Notes app. I have an all or nothing mentality that I am working on reframing, and getting one thing done a day, or even a week is better than just staring at the list, dreaming of it to complete itself, and then another month has passed, and I am no where closer to getting these things done.

An example of five things I am working on getting done this month are :::

+ Sort thru my bags, and sell/donate the majority of them

+ Reorganize my files into a new filing system

+ Set up for success with changes to my routine

+ Reorganize my notes from PA school

+ Work on this lovely space

+ SLEEP

Is everyone not prioritizing their sleep routine, or is it just me? I use to be someone who lived to go to bed between 8/9PM and wake up between 4/5AM to get a jumpstart on my day. This past year, I have slept in more than ever, and even later than ever. I am talking about as late as 10/11AM. Which is something I have never ever done. But with the transition of last year comes many many opportunities for grace, and this was one of my areas that could really use some. So I just let myself sleep whenever, and however I wanted. But with this month of transition, from the last few weeks of late summer to the early days of crisp fall, I want to better myself into a better sleep schedule, and a mindset that prioritizes early sleeping times. This process will be gradual, but I know that I will feel more energized and confident by it.

+ NOURISHMENT

Along with crafting a healthier sleep routine, I would like to do the same for my diet. I am in the process to transition to more plant-based, whole foods instead of my current cravings of cheese, chips, crackers, and chocolate. I have been mindful of my consumption for a couple of months now, with slow changes occurring over time. This isn’t a race, it is a marathon, and this month, I am focusing on returning back to my true TIU (Tone It Up) habits, with a healthier twist to it. Think five mini meals a day, focusing on celery juice and fruit in the morning, lean lunches and dinners, with whole food snacks in-between. I am already feeling leaner, and lighter than this past year, and am excited for more improvements moving forward.

+ MOVEMENT

As I am typing this, I am sitting on the couch, and I really don’t feel like working out today. It is already 3PM in the afternoon, and it’s just a no. Which is exactly why I need this intention this month. I want and need daily movement. I have transitioned from crazy, very high intensity workouts to mostly body weight flows and movements at home, since that is where I am most days. Yesterday I started the TIU 21 Day Challenge workout program on their app, which will end on September 21st, 2020. I will literally use this program to clear the energy of late summer to welcome the start of fall.

+ MEDITATION

We move to clear energy within our bodies, we clean to clear the energy within our homes, we meditate to clear the energy within our minds. I found a new meditation app this year called Center, and it is the only meditation app I truly resonate with. Bonus, it is free! I do my daily morning meditations in silence, and this app allows for just that. It also tracks how long you meditate, and how many days in a row. It also has a very simple design, which I love. My intention this month is to read the daily passage from The Book of Awakening, and then meditate in silence for ten minutes with the Center app.

I am keeping it simple, so that’s it for this month. I also feel like this became a sub-blog post for my most used/favorite apps? But I will turn that into a future blog post to come.

I have also been thinking about how I want to catch up this space since I have gone through multiple periods of inactivity in this space. And I have just decided, while typing this out, is that today is a brand new month, and a new day, so I will go forth as such. Meaning - I am just going to move forward from today with my blog, with no need to backlog tons of blog posts. Because let me tell you, it is a lot! I will just use previous blog post ideas I have for future + current writings.

Excited for things to come and growth to this space.
